Before You Recycle

Before placing your recyclables out for pickup, be sure to check the weather forecast. If strong winds or rain are expected, consider holding your recycling until the next scheduled collection day, if possible. Please prepare your items by removing all packaging materials such as Styrofoam, packing peanuts, bubble wrap, and plastic liners. To help prevent loose paper from blowing away, place heavier containers on top of it inside the bin. Recyclables should always be placed directly in the bin without plastic bags.

Proper Battery Disposal

Before disposing of electronic devices, check whether the batteries can be safely removed. If they can, remove the batteries before drop-off. If they cannot be removed, bring the entire device to the designated drop-off location. Store loose batteries in a non-metal container, such as plastic, cardboard, or glass, to help prevent sparks or electrical contact. Then, locate a battery or electronics drop-off site near you.
